A Gift To Mrs. Claus From A Precious Elf Child

A Gift To Mrs. Claus From A Precious Elf Child

A Handmade Treasure and a Cup of Cheer

This afternoon, my darlings, I simply must share a little joy that found its way to my kitchen door. As I was tidying up from lunch and pondering what treat to bake next (Santa keeps hinting about needing more cookies for “taste-testing”), I heard a gentle knock. When I opened the door, there stood young Bo—the most earnest young elf from our North Pole art class, clutching something behind his back and nearly bursting with excitement.

Bo’s father, Beauregard, bless his heart, named him “Bo” in the hopes he’d one day take up the family tradition in the Bow Department, tying bows for gifts as his family has done for generations. But Santa, ever the gentle observer, has noticed Bo’s artistic flair. He’s encouraged Bo’s father to give this creative little soul some room to shine—sometimes our gifts from God are a little different than expected!

With shining eyes, Bo presented me with this ornament—handcrafted in elf art class, painted so carefully with a hedgehog by a festive Christmas tree. My heart nearly burst! I see a future artist in Bo, perhaps even in the Ornament Department one day.

We celebrated with a plate of my chocolate chip cookies (recipe coming soon, I promise!) and steaming mugs of homemade cappuccino (that recipe too, but only if you promise not to tell Santa I slipped in a dash of cinnamon).

It was Bo’s joy and cheerfulness as he pressed the ornament into my hands that truly made my day. There was no hesitation, just pure delight in sharing his handiwork. Bo reminded me how God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)—it’s the spirit and joy behind a gift that makes it so special. And as I admired his creation, I thought how perfect it felt, just right for my tree. It brought to mind another favorite promise: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights…” (James 1:17). What a wonderful thing, to receive and give with open-hearted joy!

Cherishing each and every one of you, my darlings,
Mrs. Claus

  • I hope you won’t be offended, Mrs. Claus, but I’m honestly not sure what to think! Is this really Mrs. Claus posting from the North Pole? It all sounds so magical and a bit unbelievable, but I have to admit—I couldn’t stop reading. The story about Bo and his ornament actually made me smile. If this is real (and maybe even if it isn’t), thank you for sharing a bit of Christmas spirit with us.

    • Dear Carlos,

Oh, I do love a healthy bit of curiosity—after all, it’s how Santa discovered half the recipes in my cookbook! I do understand a healthy amount of disbelief after all, we have kept so much a secret for so long. But I can assure you, every story I share here is true and comes straight from my cozy kitchen at the North Pole. Life here is filled with a touch of magic, a heap of faith, and more than a few cookie crumbs. Whether you’re a true believer or just passing through, you’re always welcome at my kitchen table for a story and a warm mug (with or without cinnamon, I promise). Thank you for sharing a smile with me, dear—sometimes a bit of wonder is exactly what we need.

With warm wishes and a sprinkle of North Pole magic,
      Mrs. Claus
